Believe it or not, St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance distributes more food into our community during the summer months, when children are out of school and away from breakfast and lunch programs, than it does during the holidays.
Join us in the challenge to Send Hunger Packing this summer with a donation to St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance of time, food or money - or hit the St. Mary's Food Bank "Trifecta" and do all three! - during the campaign which runs between June and September.
How far will you send hunger packing?
The number of Arizonans at risk of hunger increases during the summer months when school-age children are away from breakfast and lunch programs. This means St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance actually distributes more food into the community than it does during the holidays. And with more after school programs losing funding in 2010, St. Mary's will be asked to assume even more of the burden.

Cody was able to raise $878 in funds and 716 pounds of food for the Food Bank. We are very proud to have him as a supporter in our efforts to Send Hunger Packing!
Summer Hunger Facts
St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance is on track to distribute more than 60 million pounds of food to families and individuals in 2010 - providing enough food for more than 300,000 meals every day in 13 of Arizona's 15 counties.
Combining donated financial support and the value of donated food, 96 percent of every dollar donated to the food bank goes directly to program support.
The Food Bank is committed to eliminating hunger in Arizona, not only by distributing food to people in need, but also by advocating for solutions through our "Hunger 101" Education program.
Volunteers are at the heart of the Food Bank’s work and are always in need to help pick up, sort and distribute food.St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance - with facilities in Phoenix, Flagstaff and Surprise - provides food to more than 500 partner agencies in 700 sites that serve congregate meals, domestic violence shelters, schools, churches and senior centers. Many of those agencies depend on St. Mary's for a daily, steady supply of food.
