What's more fun that a monthly "Rock & Box" Emergency Food Box packing party?
How about twice a month?
After hundreds of volunteers packed more than half a million pounds of food into nearly 35,000 "EFB's" last summer, 98.7 FM The Peak, delicious Streets of New York food and sports mascots andother local celebrities will be back this summer as Rock & Box expands to twice a month.
Two events are scheduled for June (the 15th and 29th), July (the 13th and 27th) August the 17th and 31st) and September (the 14th and 28th). Basically, every other Tuesday is a "Rock & Box" party.
The number of volunteers for each event, which runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., is limited to the first 150, so sign up now and don't be left out of the fun, music, food and prizes given away as we rock the night away.

PLEDGE WEIGHT LOSS TO "THE BIGGEST LOSER" TO HELP ST. MARY'S
For the second year in a row, St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance, NBC's The Biggest Loser, General Mills, Subway, 24 Hour Fitness and Feeding America are partnering on the "Pound For Pound Challenge", a program that encourages those around Arizona and across the country to lose weight nationally to help provide hunger relief locally.
For every pound of weight participants pledge to lose locally, a pound of groceries will be delivered to St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance. St. Mary's challengers lost a total of 36,866 pounds in the 2009 challenge. The goal for the 2010 challenge is to surpass that mark.
To join the Challenge, people can visit www.PFPChallenge.com or www.BiggestLoser.com and enter their weight loss goals. For every pound of weight participants pledge to lose, the Pound For Pound Challenge will donate 14 cents to Feeding America - enough to deliver one pound of groceries to a local food bank - up to a maximum donation of $800,000. Pledges will be accepted until June 30. |
