Locations/Programs: COMMUNITY KITCHEN
The Community Kitchen is a 16 week foodservice training program provided by St. Mary's Food Alliance. The purpose of the Community Kitchen is to provide training and job placement in the food service industry to low income adults, while preparing meals to feed the hungry.
The Community Kitchen helps these individuals who often struggle with unemployment and poverty, gain the skills necessary for a job that offers a liveable wage, benefits, and opportunities for advancement. Students learn foodservice skills through hands-on cooking and culinary classroom studies.
Over the past ten years, Community Kitchen has provided more than 125,000 meals to the hungry in our community and helped countless individuals and their families transform their lives.
Here's what a few graduates had to say about the program.
"Regardless of the situation you're in, once you leave this program you will come out a better person in all aspects. Take full advantage of the training and education that this class has to offer. You won't be disappointed. As far as I'm concerned, the Community Kitchen is the best kept secret in Phoenix. You will be rewarded greatly!" -Dave
