Locations/Programs: AGENCY SURPLUS DISTRIBUTION
St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance distributes food to those who need it most through a network of partner agencies in 13 of Arizona’s 15 counties. Serving as a clearinghouse, the Food Bank distributes perishable food from many sources, including growers, distributors, retailers, and grocery stores. Every day edible but not salable food is rescued by the Food Bank.
The Food Bank’s partner agencies include domestic violence shelters, dining halls, schools, churches, children’s shelters, halfway houses, and senior and community centers. Following qualification, these partner agencies visit the Food Bank throughout the week to provide for their clients.
